  • Task Force created in 2004 to perform outreach to youngest county citizens.
  • Listening to Youth takes place during August and September 2004.
  • Step Up Loudoun held for very first time in November 2004. Hosted by AOL at the Lansdowne Resort, this event draws more than 500 youth and community members.
  • Loudoun Youth Inc., the non-profit, founded in April 2005 in response to community and business interest in making donations to the Loudoun Youth Initiative.
  • Youth Advisory Council and Youth Membership Network created in 2005.
  • Second Annual Step Up event takes place in November 2005.
  • First Youth Fest held in May of 2006 at Ida Lee Park in Leesburg.
  • Loudoun Youth Inc. receives $100,000 from Broadlands Regional Medical Center for support of middle school after school programs.
  • Third Annual Step Up event takes place in November 2006 on the campus of AOL in Dulles, Virginia.
  • Performances of teen-written and teen-acted play “Normal” performed around the county from February through April 2007
  • Second Youth Fest held in May of 2007 on the grounds of the Belmont Country Club in Ashburn.
  • Loudoun Youth Inc. announces receipt of $200,000 grant from the U.S. Dept. of Justice with matching funds from the Commonwealth of Virginia of $25,000 for gang prevention efforts.
  • Fourth Annual Step Up event takes place in November 2007 at the Fox Cinemas in Brambleton, Virginia.
  • Loudoun Youth Inc. receives Tania English Memorial donations beginning in fall 2007.
  • World Trade Youth was created in January 2008 with the purpose of creating social and intellectual bonds between young people from diverse cultures across the globe.
  • Third Youth Fest held in June of 2008 on the grounds of the Belmont Country Club in Ashburn.
  • The Loudoun Youth Bus starts providing discounted transportation to youth organizations In January 2008. This is a partnership between Loudoun Youth Inc. and Virginia Regional Transit which allows many organizations access to tranportation for youth that was previously too costly.
  • Athelte to Atletas was created in July 2008 as an anti-gang program to encourage soccer enthusiasts to give back to their country of origin and to make strong connections with their schools.
  • The first executive director and paid employee is hired in January 2009.
  • Fourth Youth Fest held in June of 2008 on the grounds of the Belmont Country Club in Ashburn.
  • The first program director for World Trade Youth is hired in August 2009.
  • Battle of the Bands kicks off in October 2009. This series of four Friday night events provide a safe place for teens to go while providing a venue for teen bands to audition for Youth Fest 2010.
